Here's a quick tour of the facilities that are available at our nursery. All the area’s of the nursery work in partnership with parents as we believe that an effective partnership between home and nursery is essential if children are to achieve their full potential.

Our baby room (Mini Explorers) caters for up to 12 babies up to the age of 18 months, operating on a 1-3 basis. Our baby room is a self contained room with provision for wet play, a carpeted area for general play, A sleep room and a safe outside area.

All care and planning in our baby room is focused on ‘Birth To Three Matters’

Our toddler room (Little Discoverers) caters for up to 12 children up to the age of 28 months and we operate on a 1- 3 basis. This room also works within the framework of ‘Birth to Three Matters’ encouraging children to begin becoming independent, have their own preferences, and learn to express themselves.

Our Top room (Big Adventurers) caters for 19 pre school children up to the age of 4/5  years. We operate on a 1-4 and a 1-8 basis depending on the age of the children. This room works within the ‘The Foundation Phase’ encouraging all children to become independent , to be able to express themselves effectively and to cater for their own personal needs.

Playground

We have recently fitted new safety flooring in our nursery for our older children.  This includes play facilities embedded into the floor, to encourage independent active play. The toddler and babies outdoor area is also fitted with safety flooring for running , playing and bike play.

meals

Building Blocks Nursery currently has a score of 5 on the door with the Safer Food Better Business Food Safety Agency. All our staff are trained with NCASS and have Food Hygiene Certificates Level 2 and Food Standards Agency, Allergen Training.

All our menu’s, snacks and drinks are selected to ensure that the children are having a healthy start to life.  All food is prepared freshly on site.

The nursery caters for special diets, vegans, and those children with allergies.

The nursery produces a seasonal menu that changes weekly within the scope of the childrens preferences. Meals and the amount eaten are recorded daily on each child’s Family app record so that parents are kept fully informed of their child’s eating for each day.
